There are 21 artists on display along the pathways of Geiger Memorial Park in Deer Park right now, and it costs nothing to walk through them.

The Long Island Public Arts Festival expanded into Deer Park for the first time this year, running at the newly refurbished park from September 1 through October 4.

The work is shown on three-sided outdoor structures the festival calls “prisms” — larger-than-life canvas reproductions of original pieces by contemporary artists from across New York State.

The festival is a partnership between Colored Colors and the Babylon Citizens Council on the Arts, with support from the Suffolk County Office of Cultural Affairs. A ribbon-cutting with Town of Babylon officials is still to be announced.

“Our mission with LIPAF has always been to bridge communities through the power of public art,” said Jose Tutiven, the festival’s co-founder and the founder of Colored Colors.

The next leg opens October 9 at Heckscher Park in Huntington, alongside the Long Island Fall Festival, and runs to November 1.

Geiger Memorial Park is at Grand Boulevard and Long Island Avenue in Deer Park. Admission is free during park hours.
