One Tail, Infinite Love: Meet Shadow, Who Has Been Waiting Since 2021 |
A black cat at the Town of Babylon Animal Shelter has been looking for his people for more than four years. He is diabetic, managed with special food, and all he really wants is a lap. |

PET OF THE WEEK · TOWN OF BABYLON ANIMAL SHELTER
Meet Shadow, shelter number 1-293, a sleek black cat who came to the Town of Babylon Animal Shelter on July 9, 2021, when he was 2 or 3 years old. He has been waiting for his family for more than four years.
The shelter says his name fits him exactly: he just wants to be with you. He can share a home with other cats once he has had time to get used to them, but what he really wants is his own people.
The reason he’s been passed over is one word on his card: diabetic. Right now Shadow’s diabetes is managed with diabetic cat food alone. The shelter is upfront that this could change as he gets older. Their message to adopters is simple: please don’t pass him up because of it.
He is FeLV and FIV negative, current on his vaccinations and parasite prevention, neutered and microchipped.
Meet Shadow: Town of Babylon Animal Shelter, 80 New Highway, Amityville. Adoption hours are Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Arrive at least half an hour before closing. Call 631-643-9270 and ask for Shadow, #1-293. Shelter information
