Milo arrived at the Babylon Animal Shelter on January 10, 2025. He was a year old.

He is still there.

The shelter describes him as fun, energetic and “super smart” — a dog who adores playing, craves snacks, and is happiest with his people. He is working on his manners and obedience, and he has made real progress.

What the staff say next is the part that matters, and they do not soften it.

Milo is not a first-time-owner dog. He needs a structured home that will keep training him, and a household that understands a dog’s sense of personal space and belongings. Adults only. He gets along with friendly female dogs, and he would do best with a secure backyard.

His hobbies, per the shelter: swimming and sunbathing.

“With the right guidance, Milo will shine,” the shelter wrote. “He’s truly a fast learner.”

That is an honest listing, and honest listings are how a dog like this ends up in the right house instead of back in a kennel three months later. Someone experienced and active gets a loyal dog out of it.
